Welcome to my special virtual space for art and craft-making. I've given myself the permission to call my work 'art' —- and sometimes, I even refer to myself as an 'artist'. But, I'll be the first to say that I'm not 'professionally trained' as such. I'm actually trained in psychology as a profession, but I also work as a freelance writer/professional blogger (yes, I'm getting paid to blog) by vocation.
Most of what I know about painting, collage, drawing, etc. are mostly gathered from workshops, web sites, other art and craft makers, books, manuals, and plenty of trial and error. I knew I've always wanted to create since I was a kid fooling around with pencils and crayons.
Art has always been my therapy, solace and joy. But, I didn't take myself seriously until much, much later. In fact, I was never called “the class artist” back in school. I don't think anyone even knew I was remotely inclined to paint and to draw. I'm not exactly sure why, but maybe I was just too much in to other things like writing, dance, acting…
When I got married, my husband encouraged me to explore my interests and passions —- and take them as far as I can. It was then when I learned to follow my creative path - and to trust my instincts.
A couple of years in to taking art “more seriously” - I began to sell and exhibit my work. Thankfully, some of my paintings have been sold in different parts of the world like the USA, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Australia.
In 2004, I gave birth to my “masterpiece”: a beautiful baby boy.
