Been trying to work on this community project idea since May 2007. I've conceptualised, planned, drafted, and re-drafted some more... But, I know that in order for anything to be useful, I actually have to execute the idea.
So, here we are. 52 Weeks. One full year to engage in community work.
Once a week, I'll post a community-driven project. It's up to you if you want to take part or not. If you do, please let me know either via comment or via email (shaicoggins AT gmail DOT com).
I'll write highlight posts, linking to you (and other applicable blogs), whenever possible. Once a month, we'll celebrate these community efforts with a virtual party of sorts.
Can you suggest a community task or idea?
Yes, of course. Please do! Leave a comment, email me, or ping me via Skype (ID: coggins).
Say, you like the idea and you wish to be a sponsor?
Great! If you want to be part of this project by sending sponsorship gifts/prizes for our monthly Community Party, please contact me.
As a sponsor, we'd be able to thank you by: 1) Posting a permanent link to your site/URL of choice in this blog entry; 2) Will also create a 52 Weeks Sponsor Page, if we have enough interested parties involved (3 or more sponsors); 3) Posting a "prize sponsors" text with relevant links in monthly parties and highlight posts. So, yeah... You'll get a few mentions in this blog alone.
And lots and lots of love. 🙂 Oh, and yes, will be happy to collaborate on some creative 'thank you' ideas too. Videos? Photos? Hmmm...
What can you give as a sponsor?
The best possible offer you have. Bloggers tend to love all things webby and gadgety... Flickr Pro accounts, Picnik Pro accounts, Smugmug accounts, Moo Cards, Skype credits... MP3 players, phones, computer accessories...
And yeah, if you've got cool fashionable or artsy things to offer, I'd like to hear about them too. Folks who tend to visit this blog aren't just the techy, geeky types. We've got plenty of cool, gorgeous, artistic, creative folks too.
Since I want to give only the best type of gifts to my readers and the participants of this project, I don't plan on accepting all offers. I intend to choose only the best types of offers.
Where and How do you get started with this project?
Sponsors: Contact me soon.
Participants: Wait for Task #1 to be posted soon (in the next couple of days).
Do you have to link here?
I'd love for you to do so. Possible sponsors would probably like that too.
But, seriously, you don't have to.
It'll be appreciated, but not at all demanded.
After all, that's the spirit of community, right?
