There are plenty of social bookmarking sites now out in the big wide world of the web. Digg and StumbleUpon are just two of the most popular ones. Digg is geared more towards news, politics, business, and technology while StumbleUpon is a great smörgåsbord of topics. They're great for looking for the latest and most popular items on your topics of interest. And, if you're a content producer whose article or blog entry gets 'dugg' or 'stumbled', then you can expect a good amount of traffic to come your way, especially if more and more people decide to cast a vote for that item/link.
Admittedly, I've never really been a big user of social bookmarking services/sites. I usually hear about them, check them out a couple of times, sign-up for an account (if they've interested me enough), then I forget about them. Until someone points them out to me again some time for whatever reason.
Today, I heard about one new social bookmarking site called Babblz. What sets this apart from the others that I've heard about so far is that it's specifically for lifestyle articles, blogs and sites - specifically, family, parenting, work, home and garden. So, it'll be interesting to see if the mum, dad, and other lifestyle bloggers and readers who may be feeling left out of the Digg phenomenon (or lost in the big world of StumbleUpon, etc) will adapt Babblz.
Babblz is definitely promising. But, since it's really just in its infancy, there's still a lot of things that may be improved. As it stands, though, I decided to give it a whirl. I'm even trying to incorporate it in my hobby/archive site, eMothersOnline.com - a webzine/community for mothers. Let's see how it goes.
