Back from Kangaroo Island

Remarkable Rocks, Kangaroo Island

Yes, I'm back from my short break! My family and I really enjoyed our trip to Kangaroo Island.

Remarkable Rocks, Kangaroo Island

Sure, there were rough days - when it was so cold, wet, and windy and when I could barely open my eyes due to contact lens problems. And, we even got stranded on the Island, when our ferry trip from Penneshaw back to the mainland was cancelled due to really icky weather on Sunday afternoon. So, we had to stay an extra night somewhere.

But overall, we had a great time.

We loved staying in our apartment at Kingscote (main town in KI, population 1400), where there was a spa bath in our own unit... and a big indoor jacuzzi pool + indoor heated pool in the area.

And, we enjoyed visiting various spots like Seal Bay, Flinders Chase (Remarkable Rocks, etc), Duck Lagoon, Emu Bay & American River, among others. We also visited some farms - like a Bee/Honey Factory and a Sheep Dairy.

Even a harrowing, stressful dusk drive with plenty of wildlife on the road (kangaroos, wallabies, possums and koalas!) was interesting. Lots of other animals in this trip - cuckatoos, pelicans, fairy penguins, and seals/sea lions.

I haven't uploaded many photos yet, but I will share here when I do.
