Since we're talking about memes and group projects, I know that I should be able to participate in one too. So, here I am: Crazy busy with a lot on my mind. But, making sure that I walk the 52WoC talk. 😉
Anyway, one of my all-time favourite online project is Illustration Friday. Even if I don't get to participate regularly, I really enjoy checking out it every now and then. Very inspiring!
Sometimes, I end up creating quick sketches and illustrations for IF. But, I never get to develop them. Much less, scan and share them online.
This is just one of those rare moments that I got to create, develop - and participate. And this week, the group's theme is "Island". The image you see is my interpretation of it. Well, the closest it can get to the real thing from a scan. Gold trimmings never scan well, unfortunately. So, I like it better in person.
In any case, this 'style' of art making is actually a new one for me. I sort of stumbled in to this about a month or two ago, while I was playing around with some of my own hand-painted papers. So, I'm still in an experimental stage. But, loving it.
By the way, some of you asked for some leads on memes and group projects so you can take part in the 52WoC task. Well, unfortunately, I haven't got a lot of links for 'ya. But, I shared some in my Blog Memes and Group Projects section of the Directory (a work-in-progress). Hope some of these suggested memes/group projects can inspire you to take part. Fellow 52WoCers also shared some of their own suggestions through 52WoC#29.
