Sketchnotes on Technology

As some of you might know, I have just finished speaking at two Microsoft NGO Connection Days in the Philippines (Bacolod & Cebu). During one of the events, I thought I'd try my hand at sketch noting/visual practice during a live talk.

With my tools in hand, I ended up with this sketch note on Cloud Technology from a talk by Dondi Mapa:

Sketchnotes: Cloud Technology #msngocebu

And, a sketch note on Technology Planning by Gillian Pearl, with case studies presented by Issa Cuevas-Santos and Jersey Miranda:

Sketchnotes: Tech Planning by Gillian Pearl, Issa Santos, Jersey Miranda at #msngocebu

While these aren't great works by any means, I was quite pleased to have tried doing them. I think I can get the nag of this, as I really enjoyed listening while sketching. This practice really seem to help to reiterate my own learning. And, I get a visual of my thoughts. Now if only my hands can move faster and improve my style. ๐Ÿ™‚

In any case, upon sharing these sketch notes online, I was delighted to see that Gillian also tried her hand at sketch noting using MS OneNote. Here's her sketch note of my talk on social media strategy for nonprofits. Nice, yes? I personally love it. ๐Ÿ™‚

For those who might be curious to know, I used the following tools to create my sketchnotes: iPad2, pogo stylus, and ArtRage app.
