They say women like to change hairstyles when they go through major life changes. Or, maybe when we're just a bit bored.
And, I think I've carried this "itch for a change" as blogger.
In fact, I really, really wanted to launch a new look and a re-branded Studio Notes/ShaiCoggins.com during our 12th year blogiversary. But, with everything else going on, it kept getting pushed back.
Well, until I decided to stay up all night last night to work on this:
Yes, hello new look ShaiCoggins.com!
I decided to drop Studio Notes again for now. I'm not sure if I'll revive that again one day. But, at the moment, it doesn't seem to fit where I am as a blogger.
This new re-design may not stay this way, as I plan to keep tweaking whenever I can. It's still not in a way that I would really like it to be. But, it's a step closer to where I want to take this blog for now.
One thing I realised is that one of my biggest challenges with this blog is that I have gone through a lot of major changes in life over the last 12 years. And, I find it difficult to keep my blog the same way as I did when I first started. But, at the same time, I don't want to alienate readers and friends I've made through this blog over the years.
I mean, I probably already have because of all the changes, as well as all the stops and starts, that I've done here. After all, I did delete many of my earlier blog posts (from 1999 to early 2004) precisely because of all the changes that have been happening in my life. A lot of those posts don't seem to fit where I should be.
Truth be told, I have even contemplated deleting most of my blog posts here and starting over as well many many times. Obviously, I have managed talked myself out of that idea just as many times.
But, I'm still planning on working through some changes as I go along. Little by little. Just like trimming hair or changing hair colour. Small changes that can hopefully make a big difference.
