Ask Me Anything, a revival

About 7 years ago, I played with the Ask Me Anything concept. The idea was simple: I opened up my blog to allow readers and friends to ask me any burning questions - serious or silly. And, thanks to special folks who played the game with me, I ended up with some really fun and interesting questions.

If you're curious to see a list of Q & As I did over several blog posts, check out the Ask Me Anything index.

Ask Me Anything 2012

Anyway, due to the latest site redesign, I also started updating some of my older posts. This is when I found a number of unanswered comments, broken links, and blog posts that needed some attention. I know I will never get through all of them, but I have started fixing some that are worth fixing (eg, those that still get huge traffic, even though they're quite old posts).

For example, I decided to update and "pretty-fy" my recipe posts. There are still loads to do, but I managed to fix up a handful of my popular recipes like the chicken sopas recipe, fish fillet with lemon butter sauce, and chilli crabs recipe. I hope to be able to update all the others too. And, yes, not only are they prettier, they're even easier to print now. I think there's meant to be a function that should allow people to rate the recipes too, but it doesn't seem to be working just yet. I'm hoping to sort it out sometime soon.

I hope to keep looking for ways to improve some of my older posts, and of course, I introducing some new ones.

Anyway, as I was saying... While working on updating some of these older posts, I somehow stumbled upon this Ask Me Anything series and realised I haven't responded to some questions posted about six years ago.

Since they seem to be posted a year later after I introduced A.M.E., they kind of fell off the radar.

So, now, I thought I'd finally respond, even if the folks who asked them may have forgotten all about this by now. :p

Anyway, here's a list of really cool questions from Eiain of the UK:

1) What is your favorite colour toilet tissue?

Hmmm... Okay... White! With some subtle patterns, of course - either printed or embossed.

2) What would you say is you favorite hour of the day or night?

Ooh... Tough one. I like different times of the day for different reasons. But, if I am talking purely from a creative/productive standpoint, I like late nights... Especially starting around 10pm (if I am still alert and not exhausted from my day), as I find it to be the start of my most creative moments.

3) What book are you reading right now, and why?

This is an interesting question to answer because I tend to have several books going at the same time. I tend to start a book, then start another one, and so on. I only stick to one book when I end up completely lost in it. I don't have one right now where I am completely lost in the book.

However, I have a few books that I have been reading for some time now. Some of these books include:

  • Clash of Kings by George RR Martin
  • The Once and Future King by T White
  • Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
  • Spindle's End by Robin McKinley
  • Walking in this World by Julia Cameron
  • I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was by Barbara Sher

Sadly, I have more in the list but I'll stop there for now.

4) If you had to be a superhero who would you be and why? and yes, you can be either male or female.

Love this question! Except I have no idea how to answer it. Once upon a time, I probably would've said "Wonder Woman" as I used to love her as a kid. But, I'm kind of over WW now.

I love superheroes, though. Even if I don't think I aspire to be one.

However, since I am very much into Marvel superheroes, can I choose to be Professor X? ๐Ÿ™‚

5) Finally, what colour pencil would you be?

I'd like to be one of those multi-coloured pencils! They're so much fun... ๐Ÿ™‚

multicolored pencils

I also found out that one of my good online friends, AnP, also asked this many moons ago (yikes!):

Would you be settling in Australia for good?

In a few months' time, hubby and I would be celebrating a decade of residency in Australia. So, I think it's safe to say that Australia is definitely home for hubby and I for now and the foreseeable future.

Do you have plans of giving C a sister/brother?

This question is the biggest proof that I have waited way too long to respond. My boy C was on his own at the time and had I answered this back then, I probably would've been hesitant to say yes (long story!).

Thankfully, life brings a lot of wonderful things our way. Yes, just over five years ago, C ended up with a little sister when my baby girl M was born.

Yay for Questions!

Finally completed all the questions now, and I am glad. It took me longer than planned, but I got here in the end.

Thanks again to everyone who played the Ask Me Anything game.

Now, if YOU have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to ask away. I will do my best not to wait 6 years before I respond. ๐Ÿ™‚
