Enjoy Shiny New Things: #31Newness No. 6

This post will not come as a surprise for some people who know me. In fact, I know there are folks who are half-expecting that this would come up at some stage.

Yes, I'm talking about new shoes today. And a matching new clutch handbag.

Well, okay. Something in my head cheered when I wrote new shoes - and that kind of petered off when I said new clutch.

You see, I'm not much of a handbag kind of girl. Especially not the clutch variety. When it comes to bags, I tend to be one of those big, heavy bag kind of a person. And, for the most part, I usually just buy a bag and wear it down or use it so much I get sick of it. I also tend not to buy anything too fancy.

But, shoes.

I am definitely THAT kind of a person. The "30 pairs of shoes aren't too many" kind. I still don't go for the very expensive variety. But, I can definitely appreciate all sorts of shoes. And, I try to get a new pair whenever I see one that I love, as long as it's within my budget. And, if there's a good occasion to buy one.

Having said that, ever since I started working from home, I haven't really bought that many shoes. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I bought a new pair of shoes. Maybe last Christmas.

Since I am attending a wedding today, I thought I'd get a pair of party shoes. After all, it IS a good occasion, right?

Found these lovely 'gold'-looking shoes (the colour is actually officially called 'nude' ) at Betts. The design is called Kiki.

I've always wanted to buy a pair of shoes in the shade of 'nude'. The kind that blends with your skin. And these ones seem to do so quite well with mine. Well, with an added touch of sparkle, that is.

Since the shoes had a matching clutch, I thought I might as well go for it too. Especially since the sales person offered a $10 discount if I bought both.

Oh, and yes, I matched my nail polish yesterday with these shoes too.

Anyway, the shoes were $99 and the bag was $59.

Wearing them now at the wedding and they're quite comfy. Well, as comfy as high-heeled shoes can be. Loving them. I think they'll even look great with skinny jeans too, what do you think?

Note: Blogging this on the go at the wedding, so I'll have to add other details later. Now, time to get back to the party. 😉
