Gotta love weddings.
What's not to love? Happy couple. Love in the air. Pretty dresses. Smart suits. Cute kids. Food galore. Fun music.
I haven't been to a wedding in years. And, yes, as I've mentioned recently, I've never been to a wedding here in Adelaide.
So, when my friend Tina invited me to hers, I was very excited. Not just because I'm finally attending a wedding again. But, I'm thrilled because it's HER wedding.
Tina and I used to work together at my former office. We started in the same org just a couple of weeks apart. And, she and I have become good friends while I was there. We had our little book club, girls' lunches, and movie dates. We even attended a hip hop dance class together.
Even after I left my old job, Tina and I kept in touch, together with another good friend of ours (aka bestie Karen). We don't see each other as often as I'd like, but we've done our best to meet over lunches/brunches.
When I first heard about her engagement, I was very happy for her. And, it was really lovely to be a part of her wedding.
So, I thought I'd remember her special day through this blog post, capturing some of the photos from the day.
At the church, after the official wedding ceremonies.
The wedding program.
Amazing decor at the wedding reception. Loved the whole feel of it.
Amazing menu. Just about every item on this list was so delicious. Even though I'm not a fan of shark fin soup and abalone, I still managed to enjoy just about everything that was served. I don't think I've ever been so full at a wedding.
The lobster with noodles. One of the many yummy delights from the evening.
There was even a lolly buffet!
How awesome was it that the wedding was superhero-themed? There was even a fantastic entrance, especially with the groomsmen. And, Tina's husband, Calvin, even donned an Iron Man chest plate/reactor.
Me, with the lovely bride and bestie Karen. 🙂
Some of my former colleagues and I, just having fun at the photobooth at the wedding. Yes, I know I look a bit crazy there, but I can assure you that I haven't even started drinking yet in these photos. 🙂
This is my eighth entry to the #31Days of New blogging project, where I’m exploring the concept of #31Newness. If you have any suggestions on future “new” topics that you’d like to read, please let me know. I’d love to find out what you think.
