I love challenges. They inspire me. They help to keep me focussed.
But, I know I suck at doing something daily. As in, doing the same thing over and over on a daily basis - for a full year. Think Project 365. Yes, I failed in that five years in a row. Not sure exactly why.
Maybe because I get bored easily. Or perhaps, I just haven't found a daily year-long challenge that's right for me.
Whatever the reason, I just thought I'd give it a rest this year. Try different projects instead. Like Project Life, accompanied by Documented Life instead (blogged about these things here).
Last year, I tried a couple of things that made me re-think how I do public projects.
I also did A Week In The Life and enjoyed it immensely. This showed me that I CAN do a daily project, if I only have to stick with it for a short period of time. Like a week. A month at most, but if I have to do a daily thing for a whole month, for the whole year - then, that's kind of a 365 too, isn't it?
So, I thought that perhaps, I can just try to do daily week-long challenges, once a month.
Yes, one week out of every month in 2014, I intend to do a themed project on a daily basis - for a week.
I haven't fully set-out what I'm going to do yet for the whole year. All I know is that I intend to run January's challenge from 20-26 January. Yes, all challenges should start on a Monday.
And, I plan on updating this page every time I start a new daily week-long challenge of the month. Join me, if you please. 🙂
I'll be 'hashtagging' the project and other project updates with #DWCM14 on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. If you do join in, please use the hash tag and I'll cheer you on in any way I can. 😉
