Sketch + Journal Grid: March Daily Week-long Challenge of the Month

So, here's a a blog post that overlaps my Daily Week-long Challenges of he Month: today's my last entry for the February daily week-long challenge + sharing my daily week-long challenge for the month of March.

A bit of cheek, I know. I missed a day for February, so I had to make it up today. 1st day of March. The day I mark the beginning of autumn.

Anyway, for this month, I'm taking on a Daily Sketch + Journal Grid challenge. This is inspired by another online art course I signed up for called "Draw Your Awesome Life" by Joanne Sharpe.

Sketch: Draw Your Amazing Life

Inspired by an online art class by Joanne Sharpe. She used the word 'awesome' instead of 'amazing' but 'awesome' doesn't usually make it to my daily vocabulary so I replaced it with a similar word that I use more often.

I've just encountered Joanne's work a couple of days. And, I must admit, I don't usually sign-up for online art classes unless I'm a bit more familiar with the artist. But, I became interested because a few people from the Documented Life Project group recommended her. And, since I liked the samples of her work, I thought I'd give it a go. And, one of the ideas that I've come across from this class so far is this thing called a Week-long Sketch + Journal Grid.

Basically, the idea is to sketch and journal something for a week. But, instead of doing full sketch and journal pages for every day, you need to create a grid across a journal/sketchbook showing seven boxes - one box representing each day. Then, every day, you fill those boxes with something that you'd like to remember the day with.

Since it aligns with my Documented Life project, my current sketching obsession, and doing Project Life - I was excited about this concept. I can see myself playing with it for a long while.

I hope to do a round-up post here on the blog as well. But, since I haven't even managed to do my round-up post for the January DWCM, even though I've completed it, I'll see what I can do about catching-up with my round-up posts.

I'll be sharing some of my sketches from the "Draw Your Awesome Life" course on the three social accounts I mentioned here too.

And yes, even though my daily blogging commitment is now over, I'm hoping that it won't be long until the next post.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
