52WoC Virtual Party #10: The Final Celebration (Part 1 – Entree)

52 Weeks of Blog CommunityWell, this party has been long delayed. And, since we're doing a massive 10-prize giveaway for our final 52WoC Party, I thought I'd split this in to two events. Just for fun. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, this party's just an appetizer, so to speak. Just a small taster. I'm including entries/participants from 52WoC #45 to 52WoC #50, as those tasks are already closed. I'm keeping 52WoC #51 and 52WoC #52 open, to allow more people to join in our final celebrations. But, of course, the participants from these earlier tasks will be included in the "Main Course" party.Soup and Bread

Since this party is just for starters, I'm serving some homemade bread and soup. I hope you like 'em. ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes, I'm giving away three things (some of 'em mentioned here): a copy of Cathy Yardley's "Will Write for Shoes" book, a set of Redken, and a "Burn After Reading" DVD.

Here's a round-up of our participants...

52WoC #45: Highlight Your Commenters

52WoC #46: Share Your Video!

52WoC #47: Holiday Wish List

52WoC #48: Your New Year Challenge

52WoC #49: What You Love

52WoC #50: By Special Request

Since random.org has already started charging for their random drawing tool, I just used their integer tool, where I asked it to pick 3 random numbers (for 3 winners). Each participant/entry has an assigned number (see number in parentheses next to each name).

So, without further ado, here are the winners...

52WoC #52: The Final Hurrah!

52 Weeks of Blog CommunityYes, I know... I have been neglecting Studio Notes lately. You see, between my hectic Teaching Practicum and my regular life stuff (you know, the kids, the house, the chores, and such)... plus some of my part-time writing/blogging gigs... I've been busy trying to restructure my current favourite project KIDoosh...

So, you can see why I do not have much room for a lot of other things (ah, how I miss reading novels and watching movies --- and sleeping!).

But, even though I haven't been blogging here all that much, it doesn't mean I've forgotten you all Studio Notes readers and friends.

That's why I thought I'd take in a quick breather and post the final 52 Weeks of Blog Community. w00t! w00t!

Right you are.

Ring the bells. Sound the sirens. Make some noise.

We've finally reached our 52nd and final task for 52WoC!

Now, what do we do?

I've actually thought and thought and thought (and thought some more) about what I'd like our last act as 52WoCers to be. Tough.

Then, I thought: Why not just find a way to celebrate 52WoC as a whole... as a blogging community project?

So yes, for this final task, I encourage ALL of you who had ever participated in 52WoC (be it just one task or more regularly)... to share with us (via comments and/or your blog)... What's the one thing that you like most about taking part in 52WoC?

You can share a favourite task... a favourite friend (or two?!) that you met through 52WoC... a favourite result of your joining 52WoC...

It's up to you.

Just let us know at least ONE thing that drew you in to 52WoC. It would really, really be appreciated if you can take part in this!

And yes, I'm keeping the other tasks open still: 52WoC #51 - Future Community Projects and 52WoC #50: By Special Request. So, if you've missed those two tasks, you're welcome to join in still.

We will be doing a final round-up of participants (and a series of giveaways/parties for all participants for the last few tasks for our final 52WoC Virtual Party --- remember, I'm earmarking 10 prizes for 10 winners!)... in the next month or so.

Looking forward to your participation, everyone!

52WoC #51: Future Community Project Ideas

52 Weeks of Blog CommunityIt's our second-to-the-last 52 Weeks of Blog Community task! Yes, my blogging buddies... We're almost there! This project will soon cease - and I'm both sad and excited about it. Part of me, of course, feels relieved that we all managed to stick to this over the last 2 years. And, I feel like I've gotten to know a lot of Studio Notes readers and friends through this project. That's why I am a bit sad too. Sad, that this amazing journey is almost coming to an end.

With this in mind, I thought for this task (52WoC #51), I thought I'd ask you all if you have any ideas/suggestions on possible future community projects that we can do together. You can come up with as many ideas/suggestions as you wish. And yes, each idea/suggestion you have will give you ONE entry to our Final 52WoC Virtual Party Giveaway.

I must admit, though, I'm not sure whether or not I'd do another project soon - if at all. But, I'd like to find out from you all - in true 52WoC fashion - if it is worth pursuing more community projects in the future. So, there you go.

Oh, and yes, I'm keeping 52WoC #49: By Special Request task open for now. Hopefully, it might encourage more of you to join in.

Whether you've never tried a 52WoC task before or you've dabbled in one or two tasks, please come and take part in our last few community tasks. It'll be great to have you around! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I look forward to reading your future community project ideas/suggestions...

52WoC#50: By Special Request

52 Weeks of Blog CommunitySo, we haven't had a comment interaction type of task for 52 Weeks of Blog Community for a while now. That's why I thought we'd give it another go before this project finally ends (just two more from now!). Now, here we go...

For this task, all participants must:

  • Post a blog community-related request in the comment form.
  • Complete a request from the commenter before them.

And, well... That's it!

For example, I'm sharing a request at the end of this post... the first commenter will do what I requested AND share his/her own request... Commenter 2 will do what Commenter 1 has requested and share his/her own request... and so on. Whoever posts the last request, I will be fulfilling that request.

Hmmm... Does that make sense?

Some notes on requests:

  • Please make sure that your requests are blog community-related only (example: "please comment on this post", or "please join my contest," etc).
  • Make your requests simple enough. Don't ask for anything too difficult! (e.g., if you require sign-up before commenting, please avoid requesting for comments...)
  • Do ask reasonable requests. For example, don't ask for people to buy what you're selling, click on ads, or donate to something, etc.
  • You can make a request for yourself - or for another blogger. It's up to you!

Since we've been at this for a while, I'm hoping that you get the picture of what we're hoping to achieve in this task!

It's just that one of the things that I notice that for many of us, it's just too hard to ask for something (e.g., vote for us, ask for comments, etc). However, as a blog community, we learn to tap in to each other's resources. And somehow, when we learn to ask for the right things (in the right way!), we allow our community to overwhelm us with support. Often, I'm just in awe of how our blog communities can be so much more generous than we can imagine.

Hopefully, through this task, we'll see this in action... We'll see how it goes!

Anyway, speaking of generosity and blog community love, here's our wonderful participants from our 52WoC#49 task ("What You Love") -

If I missed you, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm actually doing this at midnight on a Friday when I'm soo exhausted. So, it's not unlikely that my eyes may be getting all crossed and blurry by now! ๐Ÿ˜€

In any case, I'm looking forward to see your special requests... and all the blog community love we'll pass around for this round's task...

My special request for the 1st Commenter: If you're an old-time commenter on Studio Notes, I simply ask that you say hello to one of the bloggers that are leaving comments here at Studio Notes (especially someone you've never said hello to before). You can check out the links of "Top Commenters" on my sidebar. Do say howdy to at least one of them - and tell them I sent 'ya. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you've never left a comment here on Studio Notes - all I ask is that you delurk and just say howdy by leaving a comment. Then, post your request!

52WoC#49: What You Love

52 Weeks of Blog CommunityIt's time, it's time, it's time for another 52 Weeks of Blog Community! And, since it's February --- I'm taking on the theme of "LOVE" (since January was more about "GOALS").

So, for our 49th task, I encourage you all to do something love-related on your blog. Some ideas might be:

  • Recommend some things that you love to your readers
  • Dedicate a post to a loved one
  • Write a love letter
  • Share a love letter you received
  • Create a list of bloggers that you love
  • Hold a Blog Love Party...

Well, you get the picture. I'm sure you can amaze me with even more interesting and exciting ideas. And, I can't wait to see what you do with it!

In any case, as I promised, I'm sharing the round-ups from the last three tasks right here... And yes, just 3 more to go and we're done! Yay!
